c'est ma fête
January always comes with a sense of renewal. With new resolutions, new promises, and for me, a new age as my birthday is in January. After two years of the pandemic, and still in the throes of a string of mandatory restrictions - I was lucky to have a small celebration with some of my good friends. I wanted to spoil the girls with an intimate Jenny-in-Paris-themed dinner with some exceptional food, some fun and games with prizes, sparkly wines, and good laughs.
THE OUTFIT
Everyone showed up in the cutest Parisian-styled outfits. I knew I wanted to rock my friend’s luxe fashion line, J.Kwan, and i also wanted to twirl around in a girly tulle skirt. J.Kwan’s King Krown blouse in the dusty grey was perfect for the lavender-grey tulle skirt I purchased from Chicwish. I honestly love this blouse so much, I already own it in navy. Now I must get the navy skirt so I can do this same look in a different colorway.
THE ACCESSORIES
My favourite part of dressing up is definitely, definitely, the accessories! Great accessories really pull the entire outfit together. Here’s what I wore to celebrate my birthday!
Every piece of jewelry below holds a special meaning in my heart:
The Yuki earrings are gorgeous clusters of crystals and freshwater pearls that represent the snow flowers or snowflakes (representing our individuality that makes us special and unique).
The Celeste Trio earrings come in a set of threes (one of my favourite numbers) and include a sun (for power and energy), a moon (representing serenity), and a drop of sparkle resembling a shooting star’s tail (representing a wish).
The Celeste Crescent Moon Necklace features a crescent moon that represents new beginnings - which is perfect for celebrating a new year and a new chapter in life.
Lastly, the Supernova bracelet/anklet - features a beautiful row of sparkly natural zircon gemstones, representing the brightest moment in a star’s life.
THE BIRTHDAY TREAT
No words needed. Speechless.

THE MAKEUP
I had to make sure my makeup stayed on all night - and that, it did… till 5 am! See my ‘Get Ready With Me’ reels on Instagram, and shop my birthday beauty must-have’s below!
THE VENUE & FOOD
I really wanted to dine somewhere special since we haven’t celebrated or gotten together for quite a while. Teatro was the best choice. The building is so beautiful, the service is great, and the food and wine selection is always fabulous. Highly recommend visiting this inner-city gem if you have a special occasion to celebrate, or want a nice treat yo’self delicious meal.
THE FUN & GAMES
Since not all the girls have met each other before, I had a handful of silly games to play at our table in between courses, and it was a great icebreaker that got us all laughing. The winner of each game brought home a little fun prize. Everyone had a great time - and I really recommend purchasing these pre-made printable games from Etsy if you’re not design-savvy, or you’re running short on time.
I purchased this package of 8 printable games - you simply download the files and print at home. So easy!
THE PRIZES
The best part of the games, of course, is being able to spoil the girls with the prizes. The winner of the above games brought home some of these goodies. I wish I got to participate!
THE PARTY FAVOURS
Last but not least, the best part of throwing a little soiree is the table gifts/party favours. For the Parisian-theme party favours, the girls brought home:
Mini rose bouquets made by yours truly
Boxes of macarons from Ollia
