the ULTIMATE SEPHORA SPRING SALE must-have’s
It is that exciting time of the year again when VIB Rouge members at Sephora can save 20% off on almost everything instore and online. (VIB members get 15% off.)
This year, the event runs from April 1 - 11 and like many beauty lovers, I have already been building out my shopping cart. Here are my beauty must-haves for Spring/Summer 2022. Product links below - and remember to use promocode SAVESPRING at check out!
BEAUTY TOOLS MUST-HAVES
These amazing tools are definitely going into my tool-kit if they’re not already. I love the PMD Personal Microderm Device - it really helps to give those pores a good deep clean. I like to then follow with a massaging tool, like the Mount Lai gua sha stone, Nurse Jamie facial roller - this year, I’m going to up my game and splurge on the Foreo Bear Toning Device. I’ve had my eyes on it for the last couple of years, and after reading many positive reviews - I can’t wait to try it out. Now, your skin is prepped for masking to get it glowing for the Spring season. I highly recommend the Foreo UFO 2 Facial Mask device, it has built-in warming, cooling and LED therapy.
For some investment purchases - I definitely recommend spending your money on the Dyson airwrap. I’ve had mine for several years now - snatched it up during a Sephora sale, and it is a complete god-send. I also have my eyes on the Dyson Coralle hair straightener. This would be a great opportunity to get one.
SKINCARE MUST-HAVES
I’ve completed depleted my supply of skincare over the super harsh winter we just had. Now that it’s also warmer out, I plan on being outside more often - and with the changing season, it’s time to switch from winter products to ones more suitable for spring and summer. Here are my holy-grail skincare items.
AM Ritual:
Cleanse - I like a gentle low-pH cleanser in the morning so I don’t strip my skin of all its moisture. Innisfree Dewy Glow Jam Cleanser with Jeju Cherry Blossom is one of my favourite go-to’s. The cherry blossom scent is perfect for spring as well!
Tone - Fresh Rose & Hyaluronic Acid toner is ahh-mazing! Sometimes I feel like I don’t even need a moisturizer after using this, and it smells soo soo good.
Brighten - To get a bright and overall toned complexion, I use Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Vitamin C Serum, and Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Correcting Serum for when I notice some dark spots from too much sun (sigh - golf and hiking)
Eyes - Tatcha Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream can be used day and night. The consistency is perfect - silky and melty. Hydrating without being too thick.
Moisturize - I typically swap between a couple of different lighter-bodied facial lotions or gels for spring/summer. I love to reach for my Dewy Glow Moisturizer with Cherry Blossom & Niacinamide, or Tatcha’s Water Cream
SPF - last but not least, gotta protect that skin from the harmful UV rays. I can’t wait to try Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Sunscreen SPF 50
PM Ritual:
There’s not a better feeling than taking the day off your face after a long day. I have an evening ritual that I look forward to every evening. It helps me wind down for the and relax for the night, and these products make the ritual even more enjoyable.
Double Cleanse - I always double-cleanse at night. That means removing your makeup with cleansing oil or balm, and then a second cleanse with a gel or foamy cleanser.
Step 1: I love love love the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil Makeup Remover - it is like aromatherapy in a bottle! It feels so luxurious whenever I use it, and the tangerine peel extract helps to remove impurities and brighten your skin’s complexion, while the apricot kernel oil helps to moisturize the skin.
Step 2: I’ve used Estee Lauder’s Perfectly Clean cleanser for as long as I can remember. I love how squeaky clean my face feels without feeling dry.
Tone - I use the Fresh Rose & Hyaluronic Acid toner day and night. Another toner I love include Biossance Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner and also Innisfree Intensive Hydrating Toner with Green Tea Seed
Eyes - Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream. This one is super rich and hydrating, so I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who may have melia or sensitive under-eye skin
Serum - my favorite serums these days for the night time are definitely Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex Serum and Sulwhasoo Anti-Aging First Care Activating Serum
Moisturize - Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Firming Moisturizer and depending if I need an extra boost of moisturizing, I love to add a few drops of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Moisturizing Face Oil
Makeup Must-Haves
I’ve completed depleted my usuals - foundation, concealer, pencils, and mascaras. Here’s a list of my tried and true must-haves as well as items I cannot wait to try out!
Foundations:
For everyday wear, I usually use a tinted moisturizer. I love Bare Minerals Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 (I use shade 6.5 Desert). For a full-glam, I like Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid (I use shade 7 - Neutral). This year, I can’t wait to try Makeup Forever HD Skin Undetectable Longwear Foundation.
Concealers:
Tatcha’s The Pearl (I use shade Moonlight) is amazing for an easy light coverage, and quick brightening under the eyes. The consistency is a little weird at first, but keep dabbing it in - the results are amazing. Each jar has a crushed Japanese pearl in it too! Unfortunately - it looks like Sephora no longer carries this product - so I’ve linked it to Tatcha’s website. New clients get 15% off by signing up, and you can get 4% cashback via Rakuten.
Another great everyday all-over highlighting concealer is Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat All-Over Brightening Concealer Pen (I use shade 3.5 Luminous Almond). It’s easy to throw in your makeup bag too for a quick fix anywhere.
For full coverage as well as sculpting - I love Too faced Born This Way Concealer (I use shade Almond).
Powder/Bronzers/Highlighters/Blushes:
I’ve been a fan of NARS Orgasm blush for at least a decade. Definitely a beauty-kit must-have! Check out the gallery for links to my fav face powder prodcuts.
Eyes:
I plan on doing lots of soft peaches and bronzy rose golds for the eyes this summer. I’ve included some palettes I’ve got in my shopping cart as well as some staple products I can’t live without.
Lips:
HAIR CARE MUST-HAVES
I must say I’ve come a long way from my Herbal Essence days. I’ve only recently begun to explore some ‘boujee’ shampoo, conditioners and hair masks. Here’s what I love so far plus some new items I can’t wait to try!
